Legacy

MTC handle projects from the very large to the small with a wide range of input media (hard copy, PDF, InDesign, Word) and deliverables (print PDF, web PDF, Word, eBook).

With the capability to create digital files and to store them at increasingly lower costs, publishers have taken on the creation of legacy databases. Such databases are often dubbed digital archives or digital libraries and contain back issues of journals, in some cases covering decades if not more than 100 years. Several of the professional and scholarly societies have digitized content of their journals back to Volume 1, Issue 1. These resources are proving valuable and useful to a variety of scholars and researchers, and often create a significant additional revenue stream for the publisher.

Searchability and connectivity are the keys to an accessible archive. MTC works with publishers to include HTML title/author abstracts information and XML references. DOIís may be inserted at the book and chapter level as well as the article level. With a link to the archive from a current publication home page and integrated cross-searching, researchers will easily obtain the results they need whether the information was published in the last week, last year, last decade, or even earlier.

With files formatted by MTC, a publisher can join several industry initiatives without the need for a second costly conversion.

MTC looks forward to partnering with publishers in serving scientific communities worldwide through an unparalleled commitment to quality, reliability, and innovation.
