In 2007 Paul Hartley and Michael Angless created a new typesetting company, MTC, in the Philippines dedicated to providing high quality service to publishers of information for the professional, scholarly, scientific, technical, and medical research communities.
The Association of American Publishers (AAP) reports gains for professional and scholarly book publishing [see http://www.publishers.org/press/44/]. According to the AAP BookStats committee: “The Professional market’s $3.7 Billion net sales revenue was +6.3% over 2008. Scholarly publishing experienced 4.7% growth since 2008, with $191 Million net sales revenue for 2010.”
